Here doggie!

Before my friend with celiac came for a visit, I asked another friend with a gluten allergy what her favorite restaurant was.  She immediate responded with Where is a Dog? near Waseda Station.  Even though it was almost an hour away from our house, we decided the trek was worth it based on my friend's recommendation.  When gluten free bagels are offered, we shall travel far to gobble them up!

We arrived to the small café ready to eat.  There were only 5 tables, but the big one (which seats 4) was available for our group of 4.  The lunch menu consisted of only 4 dishes, 1 special, and we found some sandwiches in the back of the menu as well.  We ordered our food and waited patiently.

It didn't take long before they began bringing out our food.  My son's chicken sandwich came first.  He dove right in and had nothing but praise for the chicken, vegetables, and gluten free bread.  My husband also made his vegan plate disappear very quickly.  My friend and I ordered the wild rice bowl.  We barely spoke during the meal.  Instead we just pointed with our forks at our delectable meals while we chewed and shook our heads in approval.

The relaxed atmosphere of the café was great.  We had a lovely time eating wonderful, filling food and chatting the afternoon away.

The shop had lots of food stuffs for sale, like tea, crackers, and a variety of gluten free baked goods they make.  I bought a loaf of bread for my friend that told us to check it out and my visiting friend purchased a couple bagels.

These bagels may look thin, but they were amazing!
I highly recommend them.
We were all really pleased with the meals at Where is a Dog?  Even though my family doesn't have to eat gluten free, we will be back because the food was so good!

The time has come to say goodbye

Earlier this year my husband applied for a new job. As usual, I encouraged him as he went through the interview process. It was a long, draw...
