Restaurant meals for kids can be over the top cute in Japan. At some point in the past 10 years, these adorable plates have been getting less and less healthy. French fries are practically standard these days, which drives me crazy. A single tomato or broccoli floret is simply not enough!
Traditional Japanese kid's meals are miniature versions of adult meals. When we run across a classically awesome kid's meal, our son is super excited (he's one of those kids who loves vegetables). Any time his meal is do-it-himself, it makes his heart soar.
After contemplating lunch venues, we spotted a Japanese restaurant with a great kid's set. Our son was eager to eat their temakizushi. He loves to assemble his own meal!
Having control over his own food is essential in him wanting to eat real food. He loved assembling his lunch, picking what went into his hand roll and when.
