I really don't know what it is about Kit Kats that has created a national obsession. Of course, I have my theories. When I see those new flavors, I can't help myself but buy a bag to try.
Today, we were shopping at a new-to-us grocery store and we came across several new flavors. I happily put them into the basket.
My husband may have scoffed at the two different strawberry cheesecake flavors, but I was curious. One was labeled "strawberry cheesecake ice cream" and the other was labeled "strawberry cheesecake". I think I will try the recommended method of enjoying the ice cream style - sticking it in the freezer.
The mint Kit Kats sounded lovely. I was pleasantly surprised that the level of mint wasn't overpowering. It was just the right amount of mint.
The chestnut Kit Kats were possibly the most surprising. I know that this is the season of this large nut, but it was an interesting choice by the company.
I don't know why I am such a Kit Kat nut. But I am. And I embrace it - one break at a time.
In 2017 my family headed to Tokyo. My husband had a new job and my son and I came along for the ride. This move was my second move to Japan - the first was for a year in 2002. At that time I was a single, recent college graduate. Moving abroad as a family was a whole different ball of wax. As I live this crazy life in Japan, I track our adventures and my observations, creating an unofficial guidebook to the city.
