Rent-a-bike

When you need a ride and your bike is unavailable, you need to either borrow or rent.  There are a variety of ways to rent a bike in Japan, but my favorite is vending machine style.


While wandering around Nerima a while ago, we walked past one of these gems.  For ¥200, you can borrow a bike for 24 hours.  Just put your money in the machine and it spits out the bike.  Lucky for us, someone walked up and used the machine while we were there. 


I've seen bike rentals in major US cities, but never anything like this.
