As seen.. in Japan

There are lots of gadgets just ripe for the discovering.  I love to see the weird and inventive.  These are just three items that tickled my fancy recently.

Maybe this one will work and maybe it won't.  I tried to make soft boiled eggs the other night and they stuck to the shells like none other.  After struggling and ending up using a spoon to dislodge them, I was excited to see this egg hole puncher at my local Daiso (¥100 yen shop).  It stabs a small hole in the egg shell, letting some air in between the shell and membrane, supposedly making it easy to peel.  This went right into my basket.  I've read about these online, and was excited to see one!  And for only ¥100 ($.88), I was even more excited!  This has yet to be used, so I'm not sure how well it works.  Testing will occur very soon.

Due to lots of condensation on my bedroom window, I have been on a search for help to get my window "un-moistened" every morning.  I started with a washcloth that I had to ring out multiple times during the wipe down.  Then, I spotted this little gem.  A dew condensation picking wiper will do the trick!  I bought it and brought it home.  The next morning, I eagerly used it to remove condensation.  The joy didn't last long though.  The window is textured, so instead of wiping everything off it just beaded up and slid right down, puddling at the bottom of the window.  And it didn't do anything for the window frame.  So, I still ended up using my trusty washcloth.  Great idea, bad execution.

This gem was not in a store, but delighted me nonetheless.  Two of the moms needed little trims, so they whipped out this beauty and got to task.  I turned around to see what they were up to and started laughing out loud.  There they were, in the park, clipping away and making sure not to get hair all over the place.  I wonder if many people have these, or if it was a special item.  Either way, I found it to be very entertaining.

The time has come to say goodbye

Earlier this year my husband applied for a new job. As usual, I encouraged him as he went through the interview process. It was a long, draw...
