Sometimes I need to remind myself to slow down and appreciate this big city I live in. Tokyo is filled with interesting things, if I only stop and look at it.
These buildings made me stop and admire them. They are all located in Harajuku, a bit of a walk from the famed street, but still in the neighborhood.
If you look really close, you might even find what looks like an art installation, but is actually a child's play structure. This fascinating tube is in Odaiba, and there is more than one. My son happily played here for 45 minutes, climbing in and out, up and down, and around and around. I'm so glad we stopped to investigate.
Stop. Take a breath. What do you see that is interesting?
In 2017 my family headed to Tokyo. My husband had a new job and my son and I came along for the ride. This move was my second move to Japan - the first was for a year in 2002. At that time I was a single, recent college graduate. Moving abroad as a family was a whole different ball of wax. As I live this crazy life in Japan, I track our adventures and my observations, creating an unofficial guidebook to the city.
