When Sunshine Aquarium has a special exhibit, it is really, really special. Last time we were there, we noticed they had a special exhibit that featured unique creatures and poop. My son is super excited about both topics, so I promised to bring him back another day to see the additional animals.
Even though we are annual pass holders, we had to pay a fee (it was discounted) to go to the Hen-na Ikimono exhibit. For just ¥400 ($3.75 USD), we were able to learn about several animal's poop. It seems silly, but it was really interesting.
I got to see several animals that I had never seen before, like the Armadillo girdled lizard. This always delights me, as animals are endlessly intriguing.
It was a good exhibit. But, honestly, the best part was seeing my son's excitement. He was thrilled to see the poop (especially the wombat poop, which we learned was square in a book that we used to read all the time) and was enthralled with several of the animals (he's now begging for an angora rabbit).
As we walked through the exhibit, I wanted to know more about what was being shown and the information provided. I pulled out my trusty Translator app and started converting the text from Japanese to English. I immediately burst out laughing. Translation apps can be so incredibly helpful, but sometimes it is just so off the mark.
I was able to decipher a little bit of information, but beyond the tidbits I'm at a loss. Luckily, I am able to laugh about it most days - today included.
